Dynetics is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join the Modeling and Simulations Contract Framework and Tools (MASC-F) program. The MASC-F program supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in performing Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and its intended uses.
This includes the following categories:
Concept Evaluation, Developmental Engineering, Testing and Verification, Assessment, Training, and Operational Support.
MASC-F personnel supports in the following areas.
Modify, enhance, develop, and sustain of the MDA Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) to meet MDA's evolving M&S requirements. Maintain and evolve the OSF architecture and external interfaces. Develop, modify, and enhance other BMDS tools as required.
You will be working on an agile software development team that has responsibility for developing software solutions for the Objective Simulation Framework. This role involves applying computer science skills to support a Test-Driven Development method of software implementation. As the software engineer you will collaborate with a team of software developers to code software sub-systems specified during sprint planning. In addition, you will engage in module level testing, system level testing, debugging, and documentation, in addition to authoring code. As part of a team the software engineer will utilize configuration management tools and other development tools and methods to ensure a quality product.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education, plus 3-5 years of professional experience or 3-5 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree, or no experience required with a related PhD or JD.
Should have the ability to research and come up with creative solutions to solve existing challenges.
Knowledge using C++ and/or Java languages or similar languages.
Working knowledge with Linux/Unix commands and environment.
Knowledge of Object Oriented (OO) Design & Development.
Must work well in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
The following skills, experience, and/or knowledge is desired:
Basic understanding of M&S
Knowledge of the Ballistic Missile Defense System
Experience developing software in an Agile environment
Experience in development of model elements, DIS protocols
Experience with Agile Process Tools such as Version 1
Experience with Test Driven Development, Unit Testing, and automated test
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
