Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a qualified individual with at least 7 years of data links / communications engineering experience to serve as an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Data Links / Communications Engineer within the Systems Interoperability, Integration, and Test Department. The candidate selected will join our diverse team of junior to senior engineers to create unique solutions for complex problems. We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, aerospace, cyber, space, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.
The UAS Data Links / Communications Engineer will join our team of engineers to perform analysis and study to advise our DoD customers on issues relating to the future of UAS communications systems. Our team provides technical and academic counsel for government product offices to aid in architecting communications solutions to be deployed in the field to support the warfighter. This ensures that our customers can maximize capability in a cost-effective manner as new, advanced communications capabilities are sought out.
This is a unique position in that it provides a lot of recognition and great visibility, across the DoD services, into the excellent work and products that we produce for our customers and directly for the warfighter.
Our team also has the unique advantage of having several large and small DoD UAS assets (“drones”/unmanned aircraft, ground control stations, manned-unmanned teaming assets such as helicopters and remote video terminals, etc.) within our facility to allow for evaluation of these systems with data link tools we develop or purchase.
Our team and products provide a lot of “value added” to our customers and warfighters using our products. This is a position on a capable and collaborative team with a variety of knowledge to share.

Must have bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, mathematics, or physics) with at least 7 years of relevant data links / communications experience with greater than 3.0 GPA from an ABET-accredited university.
Must have demonstrated more than 3 years of experience effectively collaborating within a team environment.
Must have more than 3 years of experience communicating with customers and management.
The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge in five or more of the following:
Must be willing to travel as needed to locations across the U.S., though travel is minimal for this position.
Must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Experience or demonstrated skill in any of the following is also a plus:
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
