Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a talented Assembly, Integration, and Fabrication Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions

This position will lead the non-recurring engineering efforts and manufacturing plan development for Assembly, Integration, and Fabrication activities for the low-rate initial production (LRIP) of a critical air defense program. We are seeking a technically ambitious, proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be primarily responsible for production line design, facility modifications, tooling development, tooling acquisition, capacity planning, make//buy decisions, and staffing plans. This position will work with the Manufacturing Planning Team and Program Team to execute the transition from prototype production to LRIP and Full Rate Production (FRP).

The AI&F Lead key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facility layout and improvements
  • Cost and schedule estimates
  • Welding process development
  • Development of manufacturing plans
  • Staffing plan development
  • Production tooling development
  • Process plan development
  • Production process flow
  • Vendor selection and development for outsourced hardware
  • Resource loaded schedules

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering with 10 years of relevant experience in DoD or aerospace hardware production
  • In lieu of engineering degree, a BS or BA degree and 20 years of experience supporting DoD or aerospace related manufacturing programs may be substituted.
  • Experience leading hardware production activities
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and improve processes in a hardware development environment
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Project)
  • Strong communication skills in technical work environments
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software
  • Experience with AS9100 or equivalent industry standards
  • Experience with Large System Integration in a production environment
  • Experience in fabrication and welding industrial standards
  • 5+ years leading hardware assembly and integration activities
  • Analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
