Position Description

Dynetics, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Developer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, providing responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions for a variety of customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing Google Android applications, components, and services in support of U.S. Army training and simulation requirements. This position involves working as part of a remote team to design, build, test, and deploy software. The team consists of highly skilled developers with strong fundamental skills that value utilizing new technologies. Direct communication with customers, end users, and team members occurs on a regular basis.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Android OS experience
  • Proficiency with Kotlin, Android Jetpack and Android SDK
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Coroutines and LiveData/Kotlin Flows
    • Remote data via REST and JSON
    • Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Knowledge of data structures, object-oriented design, ViewModel concepts, and effective unit testing
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience
  • Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater Huntsville area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference may be shown to candidates who possess knowledge and/or experience with the following:

  • Mobile UI/UX
  • ATAK Plugin development
  • Multithreaded programming

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
