Dynetics is seeking a talented Quality Control Manager for Electro-Mechanical Avionic Products to support commercial, aerospace, and defense manufacturing/production programs.
The Quality Control Manager for Electro-Mechanical Avionic Products position is responsible for implementing a Quality Control system and team that promotes customer satisfaction. The position will champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to develop an effective Quality Control system for electro-mechanical products such as Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Cable Harness, Box Build, Diagnostic Equipment, Radar Systems, etc.
Essential Functions
Serves as the primary quality control authority for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement within a specific operation.
1. Manages quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis.
2. Plan quality control staffing needs based on product manufacturing requirements, and delegate activities to Quality Engineer, and Technician staff.
3. Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring Quality Control system effectiveness.
4. Leads root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
5. Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality.
6. Develops quality planning methods for all product lines within the plant.
7. Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
8. Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the plant’s product lines.
9. Reports to Quality Management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
10. Participates in internal and external quality audits.
11. Collaborates with DCMA and other government and/or customer quality assurance organizations
12. Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
13. Review of RFQs and pending contracts for quality requirements. Participation in quoting and bidding processes to account for quality activities.
14. All other reasonable duties, as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all Quality Control employees of an electro-mechanical and Avionic manufacturing plant and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that team.
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or business administration, or equivalent number of years of experience (10+) in applicable disciplines.
Must have Five (5+) years of experience in QA/QC systems implementation and management in a manufacturing and/or product-based environment.
Experience in a QMS compliant with AS9100/ISO9001. Experience with J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620.
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Experience in leading skilled professionals in a matrix environment.
Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software a plus.
Direct experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Quality Module implementation and management a plus.
Experience in a start-up environment a plus.
Experience implementing QMS in a multi-site environment
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
