Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The position will directly support the execution of mechanical design and analysis engineering tasks supporting the Department of Defense Intelligence and Missile applications. This position will perform Computer Aided Design (CAD) definition and Reverse Engineering to create technical data used in the development of high fidelity mechanical surrogates. The candidate will work closely with customers and design teams to develop design data utilizing Faro tools (laser trackers, laser scanners, and portable measurement arms). The candidate should understand measurement techniques and the process to create a 3D CAD model from actual measurements.
As part of the reverse engineering/measurements team, the candidate must have a background in point cloud manipulation of data and its use to create 3D CAD models. This will often require taking a task from concept to deliverable with minimal oversight. The candidate must also be able to work efficiently with a team and be able to balance multiple projects at a time.
BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree, from an ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with Reverse Engineering either before or after obtaining BSME degree.
Experience and demonstrated skill in any of the following areas is also a plus:
•Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, Catia
•Geomagic Design X, Polyworks
•Project or people management
•Knowledge of CAD/EPDM poducts
•Secret Clearance desired
•Knowledge of weapon systems or military hardware
•Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
•Knowledge of ASME drawing standards
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
