Position Description

Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engineering Tools and Processes Specialist to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, costeffective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Engineering Tools and Processes Specialist will work as a member of an Army Project Office System Engineering Directorate team to lead, develop, and instantiate tools and processes to facilitate an effective and efficient Agile System Engineering Research and Development team. The System Engineering team is growing, is transitioning from and oversight role to a SAFe Agile development environment, and as such this position is critical to the team’s success. The position will include, but not limited to, the System Engineering Directorate’s metrics input to the Agile dashboard, tool automation to the maximum extent possible, tailored processes equivalent to a CMMI-SE Level 3 engineering organization, and on-call data requests as needed. The position requires the ability to understand the stakeholder (i.e., the System Engineering Director, Division Chiefs and all team members) needs and products and to supplement those with tools and processes to make the team more effective and efficient.

Basic Qualifications

  • The candidate must be familiar with engineering tools such as requirements databases (e.g., DOORSTM), Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) (e.g., MagicDraw), software and bug tracking (Jira), configuration and data management (e.g., Windchill), and automatic report generation tools.
  • The candidate must have experience integrating between different toolsets and/or using relational databases (e.g., Access, SQL Server) to produce a custom result.
  • The candidate must have experience programming with at least one scripting language and the ability to learn more languages as needed to perform the duties of the position.
  • The candidate must be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
  • The candidate must be familiar with CMMI-SE concepts and practices in an engineering environment.
  • The candidate’s measure of success will be the System Engineering team’s improved productivity and overall satisfaction.

Candidate must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (ABET preferred), and must have a minimum of 4 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.

-The ideal candidate will have experience with DOORSTM, MagicDraw, Jira, and/or Windchill

-The ideal candidate will have experience working in a CMMI-SE Level 3 engineering environment

-The ideal candidate will have experience developing and using an Agile dashboard.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
