Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer TDP for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful candidate will serve as a Mechanical Engineer Technical Data Package (TDP) that will handle all aspects of mechanical TDPs for Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). The candidate will support documenting HGB design and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) test equipment to support Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) activities. Areas of work will include documenting mechanical designs of HGB mechanical structure and components as well as assembly, test equipment, and transport fixtures.

The candidate will resolve data gaps and derive requirements while working across functional teams to construct Technical Data Package documentation of HGB and support equipment. The candidate will provide supplier surveillance during installation and inspection as well as review technical drawings and update/correct as needed.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Material, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required.

Candidate must have at least 10+ years of relevant experience.

The following skills/abilities are desired:

  • Experience with design of avionics and test equipment
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop
  • Knowledge of missile mechanical structural systems including aeroshells, fasteners and assembly processes
  • Experience with environmental testing of missile components and related test equipment
  • Experience with compatible materials, fasteners, coatings, processes and assembly methods
  • Knowledge of ASME drawing standards
  • Experience with Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro/ENGINEER)
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB equipment

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have experience related to design, manufacture and or test of missile thermal protection systems and have a current DoD Secret clearance.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
