Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Actuator Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The successful candidate will serve as an Actuator Engineer that will support missile control actuation systems leading to production of Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). Specific duties may encompass the production and test of flight hardware including power amplifiers, feedback systems, controllers, electric actuators, and mechanical linkages. Support for test fixtures capable of emulating hinge moment loading effects. Work with high current switching circuits, H bridges, synchro/resolvers, and back EMF protection circuitry. Work with structural design team to insure drive line components are built to specification and inspected/tested for compliance. Review HGB system documentation including drawings, test procedures, and work instructions to assess elevon actuator system design. Assist in procurement preparation from component manufactures including parts management, quality documentation and test requirements.
Provide supplier surveillance during manufacturing and testing. Support development of test equipment and test processes as well as review of test data to include setup/operation of test fixtures and data acquisition equipment to collect test data. Support component installation and testing during production process including work instructions, troubleshooting, and onsite repairs/rework. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment.IND3
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 10+ years of relevant experience.
The following skills/abilities are desired:
Experience with missile actuator systems
Experience with electronic/mechanical design and manufacturing
Experience with testing and analyzing actuators
Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Some travel may be required.
The ideal candidate would have experience in electronics/avionics/environmental testing and have a current DoD Secret clearance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
