Dynetics Technical Solutions, Inc. (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, Inc. The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified Thermal Protection Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The successful candidate will serve as a Thermal Protection Engineer that will handle all aspects of design, manufacture and test of thermal protection systems for Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). Specific duties may encompass structural design, parts design, materials evaluation, and requirements specification for aeroshells, fasteners and assembly processes for HGB. The candidate will assist in preparation of RFP for component manufacturing, including parts management, quality, test requirements and documentation. The candidate will provide supplier surveillance during installation and inspection to include non-conformance reports as well as review technical drawings and update/correct as needed. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment.IND3
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 10+ years of relevant experience.
The following skills/abilities are desired:
Experience with compatible thermal protection materials, fasteners, coatings, processes and assembly methods
Experience with environmental testing of missile components and related test equipment
Knowledge of missile mechanical structural systems including aeroshells and fasteners
Knowledge of ASME drawing standards
Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of HGB
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
The ideal candidate would have experience related to design and or test of missile thermal protection and structural components and have a current DoD Secret clearance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
