In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Space Systems Division is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs including HLS that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking project engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, electrical/mechanical engineers, stress/structural engineers, and analysts to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.
Dynetics is seeking a talented Propulsion Test Engineer Lead to join a diverse, highly skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving space systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective intelligence, engineering, and scientific solutions.
The Propulsion Test Engineer Lead will support the Dynetics Space Systems Division with development of HLS with primary responsibility to test rocket engine systems, subsystems, and components. The selected individual will serve as lead test engineer for a fast-paced task focused on design and development of space flight propulsion systems. The individual will work to understand and finalize requirements, generate the facility design, solicit and procure supplier-provided hardware, and lead the build and checkout of the facility on time and budget. The individual will develop schematics and facility layouts, create test procedures, conduct tests, and lead test data analysis and completion of requirements verification and validation documentation and reports. The individual will also interface with project managers, mechanical designers, component engineers, other test engineers, safety, and quality with Dynetics.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of propulsion test experience with NASA, DoD, or commercial launch or space vehicle development.
Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with space system, subsystem, and/or component testing including:
Candidate must have experience designing and constructing propulsion test articles and facilities within budget and tight schedule constraints.
Candidate must have experience with safe handling of cryogenic propellants, hazardous materials, and high pressure systems.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience with industry-standard data acquisition systems.
Candidate must be able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive technical reports and present results to multi-disciplinary teams and customer stakeholders.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.
Candidate must have demonstrated ability to deliver results in a team environment and independently.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidates with LabView data acquisition system operation and basic programing expereince are highly desired.
