Position Description

In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) contract in the near future, Dynetics Space Systems Division is seeking qualified engineers and analysts to support NASA programs including HLS that will put the first woman and next man on the Moon. We are seeking project engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, electrical/mechanical engineers, stress/structural engineers, and analysts to join a diverse team in support of the development of a Human Lander System that will take us back to the surface of the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Engineering Lead to join a diverse, highly-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving space systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective intelligence, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Engineering Lead will support the Dynetics Space Division in the development of a human lander system and support equipment, primarily responsible for defining the HWIL architecture, including real-time models and definition of interfaces to HWIL (Fidelity reduction, Open Loop Testing, etc.). The successful candidate will have a proven track record of directing subcontractors in architecture implementation. The candidate will work in a team environment to support design through product implementation, and should be able to lead engineering design disposition on all documentation discrepancies.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.

Candidate must have at least eight (8) years direct experience in role as detailed above with an engineering company or system integrator where design, testing, and/or modification of human rated aerospace systems was involved.

Candidate must have demonstrated expertise in analysis of requirements and design verification objectives for testability and test development.

Candidate must have experience overseeing vendors including budget and schedule tracking.

Candidate must be familiar with NASA standards for man-rated avionics.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

  • NASA or other aerospace development spaceflight projects
  • Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
