Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos,m has been selected by NASA to participate in the development and demonstration of a Human Landing System (HLS). Dynetics is seeking project engineers, systems engineers, mechanical design engineers, electrical engineers, structural and thermal analysts, manufacturing engineers, test engineers, technicians, and operators to join a diverse team in support of the development of the HLS that will carry the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics is seeking talented technicians with propulsion testing experience support Dynetics efforts on NASA's Human Landing System.   

Responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and testing of test stands, ground support equipment, fabrication and assembly of aerospace development and flight hardware, and other systems used to test rocket motors and space related components. Position will require outside work in all weather and overtime. Position will require working with drawings, sketches, and work orders for direction. The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment and be self-motivated with a desire to learn new things.


Basic Qualifications

The position requires the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and written work orders. Candidate must have a working knowledge of stainless steel fittings (AN, Swagelok, NPT, SAE, and Autoclave) and have the ability to cut, bend, flare, and assemble stainless steel tubing and fittings. Candidate must have experience working with high pressure gas and fluid systems. Candidate must be familiar working with, cutting, and fabricating aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Candidate must have at least 3 years of hands-on, hardware experience.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate has 5 years of hands-on hardware experience directly related to propulsion and other space systems. Other preferred experience includes: exposure to systems pressurized up to 6,000 psi; direct work with instrumentation such as pressure transducers, flow meters, load cells, and strain gages; experience with TIG, MIG, and orbital welding; experience with cryogenic fluids; and experience working with and handling solid propellants.
