Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, has been selected by NASA to participate in the development and demonstration of a Human Landing System (HLS). Dynetics is seeking an Avionics Engineer with spaceflight power experience to contribute to the development of the HLS that will return mankind to the Moon by 2024. The candidate should be a self-motivated life-long learner and have a great desire to further the capabilities of human space exploration.

This position will support the Electrical Power System (EPS) team within the Avionics, Software, and Power (ASP) Integrated Product Team (IPT). This position will require close collaboration with internal Dynetics teammates, industry partners, and the NASA customer. Candidate may be involved in spacecraft power system architecture development, spacecraft power budget development and maintenance, power quality requirement definition, power system anomaly investigation/resolution during integration/testing, and acceptance and qualification of spacecraft solar arrays, batteries, and other power system hardware. The position’s tasks may also include writing power system requirements documents, specifications, test plans, procedures, and reports. Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering  or equivalent degree from an ABET-accreddited University

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an avionics or power engineer

· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with customers, superiors, and peers

Other Qualifications

· Radiation Tolerant and/or Radiation Hardened Electronics Design Experience

· Familiarity with spacecraft power systems, budgeting, and battery sizing

· Solar cell and solar array design and testing experience highly desired

· Familiarity with NASA and Industry Standards, including JSC 20793 and AIAA S-111/S-112

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
