Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Embedded Electronics Reverse Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Foreign Weapon Systems branch goals include the characterization, analysis, testing, and ultimate defeat of all types of threat weapons systems including foreign missiles and radars. This group concentrates primarily on electrical, sensor, optical, and firmware aspects of the systems, but will engage any part of the system that advances our goals. This is hands-on work involving actual threat weapon hardware. Our team develops equipment to control and test these threats in a Hardware-in-the-Loop environment. We also specialize in the development of countermeasure concepts and equipment.
The Embedded Electronics Reverse Engineer will use commercial and custom methods to retrieve FPGA and microcontroller firmware, reverse-engineer FPGA bitstreams and configuration data, disassemble microcontroller binaries, and decompile C programs. This work includes developing custom hardware techniques, as well as custom software to aid and automate the reverse-engineering of various types of software and firmware binaries. This position will also have responsibility for analysis of tracking, guidance, and counter-countermeasure algorithms contained within missile and radar systems. The goal of this analysis will be to describe the threat capabilities and vulnerabilities against the U.S. systems that oppose it. Test benches will be developed to verify analysis and further characterize the signal processing chain. Weapon system instrumentation and testing will be supported for data collection purposes. Once analysis is complete, efforts will continue towards developing countermeasures for the threat system in order to ensure its defeat in combat.IND3
-Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.
-Candidate must have demonstrated experience using C++/C and assembly languages.
-Candidate must have demonstrated experience with FPGA or ASIC synthesis and simulation tools.
-Candidate must have education or work experience in embedded software design.
-Candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of various FPGA and computer architectures.
-Candidate must have demonstrated education or work experience in FPGA or ASIC design and verification.
-Candidate must be knowledgeable with hardware description languages including Verilog or VHDL.
-Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
-Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
