Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, has been selected by NASA to participate in the development and demonstration of a Human Landing System (HLS). Dynetics is seeking project engineers, systems engineers, mechanical design engineers, electrical engineers, structural and thermal analysts, manufacturing engineers, test engineers, technicians, and operators to join a diverse team in support of the development of the HLS that will carry the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024.

Dynetics is seeking talented Loads & Dynamics Analysts to join a diverse, highly-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving space systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective intelligence, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Loads & Dynamics Analyst will support the Dynetics Space Division by developing integrated loads and dynamic environments across multiple elements of a human lander system through the full product development lifecycle. This position requires experience with analysis and test methods for static and transient loads, shock, and sine and random vibration. In addition, the position requires experience with interpreting test data, correlation of analytical models, and advanced technical planning. The candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplined, multi-organizational Integrated Product Team (IPT). Frequent customer interaction and cross-discipline communication is required.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university

Candidate must have directly applicable experience developing integrated loads and performing dynamic analysis.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the use of Femap, NASTRAN, and/or VA-One for dynamic analysis.

Candidate must be able to write technical reports and to present results to a multi-disciplined team.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates who have experience and/or knowledge of the following:

  • NASA customers, programs, standards, and methodologies.
  • NASA, DoD, or other aerospace development projects.
  • Experience with superelements (DMIG).
  • Performing as an individual contributor within a short time period.

 

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Candidate must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
