Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Junior Hardware Reverse Engineer - Radar/Missile Systems to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Foreign Material Exploitation (FME) Team is a hardware-focused group of engineers who reverse engineer foreign weapon systems in support of the intelligence community. The individual selected for this position will be an engineer with varied technical interests and demonstrated engineering skills. The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.

The selected candidate will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment to perform tasks related to reverse engineering radar and missile systems including analog/digital/RF hardware analysis, testing, and system model development. The engineer will perform duties in many Systems Engineering disciplines to include overall system analysis, model development, verification/validation, vulnerability analysis, and testing. Experience with military radar and missile systems is a plus. The individual is expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians, and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Candidate must have experience in electronics design, reverse engineering, or testing
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of digital/analog/RF electronics, components, and interface/communication standards
  • Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
  • Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods
  • Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

  • Hardware reverse engineering
  • Matlab modeling
  • Military radar and missiles systems
  • Analysis and testing of inertial sensors (i.e. gyroscopes, accelerometers, etc.)
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic actuators
  • Mentor Graphics electrical engineering development tools

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
