Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos,  is seeking a talented Simulation Developer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Dynetics' team in Colorado Springs is currently looking to add a talented engineer interested in supporting Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) radar modeling and simulation (M&S) activities. The Simulation Developer will support the team in developing, maintaining, and refining radar models using deployed simulation software at the customer facility in Colorado Springs. Candidate will work closely with the development team to identify and repair simulation issues as they arise. Candidate should have an advanced understanding of development practices, be willing to support the less experienced team members and possess exceptional attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years relevant experience to include C++ software development.
  • Knowledge of system/software development life cycles and agile development practices.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing systems and/or real-time computing/messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with System / Software Integration and Test activities.
  • Ability to work at a government facility within a multi-contractor team environment.
  • Candidate must be a resident of Colorado Springs, CO or be willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs area.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.

Other Qualifications

  • Missile defense domain knowledge
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience with Software Baseline Control Management processes/procedures.
  • Experience with high-level coding languages and scripting/interpreted languages, such as C/C++, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Python, Perl, Shell Script, bash, and awk.
  • Familiarity with MatLab, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Oracle, MySQL, and SharePoint, or related applications.
  • Familiarity with software CM processes and experience in a development environment is strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development and tools (to include JIRA and Gitlab) *Experience in complex system assessment/analysis; with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of system architectures, networks, and operations.

*Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic discrete event simulation platform *Experience with risk management, issue resolution, problem solving and customer service.
