Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Quality Engineer will support mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing and assembly for aerospace and defense manufacturing. The Quality Engineer will perform program quality planning, analyze program QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures and process plans, finalize source inspection checklist, coordinate PDR's review nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective action. Other key duties include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, working with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies. Collection and reporting of Quality Metrics, reviewing and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and conducting supplier surveillance audits.
Some travel is required, typically no more than one week per month.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 3+ years of experience.
In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in quality systems under an AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace and/or Automotive manufacturing quality control.
Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action.
Candidate must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100.
Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) is required.
Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:
Three (3) years of relevant experience with electrical components, printed circuit board assemblies and cable assemblies and/or three (3) years of relevant experience with manual/CNC machining and component measurement working with the use of micrometers, calipers, gages, etc…
At least three (3) years of relevant experience with GD&T.
Experience and working knowledge of J-STD-001, IPC 610 and IPC620 Standards a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
