Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will support and interface with the supplier base and conduct supplier control for aerospace and defense manufacturing. The SQE will work closely with program managers, program quality engineers, and receiving inspection to resolve supplier issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with Subcontracts, Purchasing Department and Program Supplier Manager to monitor supplier performance
  • Perform reviews of subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring applicable flow-down quality notes/clauses are incorporated as per program based requirements
  • Review and approve supplier quality surveys
  • Perform on-site supplier quality audits/assessments
  • Perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into their processes
  • Coordinate with Subcontracts and Purchasing Department to monitor supplier’s performance with on-time delivery & quality
  • Review supplier inspection/test documentation
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Review AS9102 FAI documentation
  • Excellent in-house and external communication and liaison skills
  • Communicate with customer and government quality assurance representatives
  • Perform other quality related tasks as directed by management

Some travel to supplier sites is required, typically no more than one week per month.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science, preferable in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience with supplier quality activity.

Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in a Supplier Quality, Product Assurance, or Manufacturing environment.

Candidate must have working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent Quality Management System.

Candidate must be able to work with project managers, quality engineers, design & manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood and communicated effectively.

Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret blue prints/schematics, CAD models, specifications and contract quality requirements.

Candidate must be able to demonstrate personal organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work with people across the Dynetics and supplier’s organizations.

Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook) and the ability to write technical documents is required.

Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who have experience with:

  • QMS compliant with AS9100/ISO9001
  • J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620
  • Deltek Costpoint accounting software
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Quality Module implementation and management
  • Implementing QMS in a multi-site environment
  • Experience in a start-up environment

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
