Position Description

Dynetics is seeking a talented Deputy Director of Manufacturing Operations to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, aerospace, cyber, space and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position will perform a key function of providing leadership and managing Dynetics Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Operations. This role will ensure efficient operation of all manufacturing facilities to include mechanical & electronics components, integration of weapon systems, sensors, and other complex electro-mechanical systems. The Deputy Director of Manufacturing Operations will apply process, quality and production improvement methodologies in developing and implementing policies and procedures, formulating manufacturing operations strategies, building and mentoring manufacturing employees and driving business results. Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensure compliance to safety procedures and best practices at all locations. Act as champion for promoting a safe work environment
  • Ensuring that Quality and Compliance standards are met for all products
  • Leading cross-functional team to meet key customer requirements supporting both internal and external customers
  • Responsible for manufacturing capacity planning including new locations, equipment, staffing, and working with the supply chain group on outsourcing opportunities.
  • Assessing and filling staffing needs during a period of high growth
  • Assist with Supplier Performance & Inventory Management
  • Assist the executive team in developing and implementing an overall manufacturing and related
  • Business strategy to support business objectives
  • Determine annual budgets for Manufacturing Operations Group
  • Meeting financial obligations and driving transparency thru the use of KPI’s and Metrics
  • Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Writing proposals and supporting business development opportunities

The candidate selected for this position will lead an organization that will execute multiple simultaneous and diverse manufacturing activities. This will be a dynamic environment and a high growth area.

Basic Qualifications

BS in a technical or business discipline with 15+ years-experience in manufacturing management for Defense, Aerospace, or Commercial projects with an understanding of manufacturing quality requirements for such projects.

  • 15 years of personnel management or organizational leadership experience, including interviewing, assessing, and hiring new personnel

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

 

Other Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced technical degree
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software
  • Direct experience with implementing Enterprise MES
  • Experience with AS9100, IPC, and DCMA standards
  • Participated in start-up of manufacturing facility
  • Led cross-functional team with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & Inventory Controls
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles, Visual Management and 5S tools
  • Strong background in the Aerospace Industry
  • Previous responsibility for P&L of business unit

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
