Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented senior level System Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The selected applicant will join a group of highly technical engineers and analysts performing Verification and Validation (V&V) analysis of Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Models and Simulations (M&S) in a government-operated, engineering and integration lab facility

The selected applicant will be expected to work independently, provide leadership, and leverage expertise across a team of analysts in a collaborative multi-contractor environment. The applicant will utilize experience from multiple disciplines such as complex design and integration, root cause analysis, test venue integration and test, and stakeholder/ customer relationships to support the planning, execution, analysis, documentation, and accreditation of GMD component models for their intended uses.

Basic Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Math and 15+ years of experience in modeling & simulation or analysis of complex systems. An advanced degree is preferred.

Ideally, candidate will have Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) experience, specifically experience with Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) analysis of Missile Defense Models and Simulations (M&S).

Position requires experience with VV&A of complex DOD systems, specifically, related to the development of V&V metrics and mapping those to M&S requirements.

Must have good people skills, be an effective communicator, and have a proven ability to work both independently and in highly dynamic multi-disciplinary team environments. Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to serve as the primary customer interface to a diverse set of government customers and other stakeholders within the industry on complex weapon system programs.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Knowledge of, and/or experience with the following are a plus:

  • Technical experience with GMD ground system components
  • Technical experience with GMD interceptor components
  • Technical experience with M&S verification, validation and accreditation processes
  • Technical experience with the development of advanced analysis scripts and tools that can make use of new techniques for V&V analysis (Matlab, Python)

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
