Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to join our diverse team to further our development and application of our Laser Air Monitoring System (LAMS). With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. LAMS measures oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapor, temperature, and pressure accurately enough to detect unsafe levels of these elements within a spacecraft.
Candidate will design, develop and test firmware for custom and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf embedded microprocessors, FPGAs and other programmable components. Candidate must work well in a small, fast pace and mission driven environment. Will require innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills and adaptive thinking.

Emphasis is placed on the utilization of existing and leading-edge tools to provide cost effective and timely solutions. The candidate will be following processes that meet the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) model maturity level 3IND3
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree. Candidate must have experience in embedded software/firmware development and demonstrate knowledge of Windows, Linux, C/C++ as well as data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit testing.
The position requires a self-disciplined individual with good people skills, writing skills, and strong technical interests/capabilities. This position requires periodic communication with the customer and possible travel to the customer locations.
A minimum of 3 years software/firmware embedded development experience is strongly preferred. Experience with both parallel processing using microcontrollers as well as FPGA experience a definite plus. Researching and integrating peripherals into a system are considered a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
