Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. Applicant will use good people skills and strong technical interests/capabilities to work with a highly technical team of engineers solving challenging technical questions about highly complex systems.
This position will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on human rated spacecraft. The position will include significant interaction with other design engineers, chief engineers, project managers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel. This challenging position will require a diverse set of technical and task management skills and will allow the opportunity to contribute immediately to important, meaningful work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Affect the design and establish requirements to minimize hazardous risk
Inform the program decision making process of the relevant hazardous risks through verbal and written presentations
Reviews product systems, associated support equipment and facilities, functional specifications and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems
Develops safety documents as required to support customer test, operational, or range requirements
Support avionics system design, guidance, navigation, & control system design, power system design, communication system design, flight software development, FPGA code development, and embedded level firmware development
Support system and hardware level testing
Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions
Ancillary duties may include tasks associated with reliability engineering, explosive safety, directed energy (laser) safety, test range safety, environmental safety and health, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and/or human factors
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Enigneering or a closely related Engineering discipline.
Also, the candidate is required meet one of the three minimum experience requirements:
5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Preferred: Avionics, GN&C, Power Systems, or Software for satellites, spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft.
4 years of experience in System Safety Engineering or Reliability Engineering (not including OSHA or facility safety).
3 years of experience with an Engineering Master’s Degree or relevant Military Experience.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:
Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering
Ability to prepare high level technical reviews and presentations
Prior related experience with Government or Military programs
Familiarity with Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards and programs.
Demonstrable experience working with testing services suppliers in the commercial and DOD/Military
Excellent communication skills
Excellent team building skills
Familiar with the following software
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
