Position Description

Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a talented Rapid Prototype Engineering Lead to join a diverse, highly-skilled team to create unique solutions for complex problems involving research systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, DTS provides responsive, cost effective intelligence, engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful Rapid Prototype Engineering Lead will support the Advanced Materials department in developing rapid prototypes of mechanical, electrical, and optical components and systems. The candidate will work with the project managers, researchers, scientists, and engineers from design to implementation and testing of systems that support novel materials research. The candidate will supervise junior mechanical and electrical engineers in rapid design and fabrication of complex systems.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of direct experience in role as detailed above with an engineering company designing electrical and or mechanical systems.

Candidate must have strong experience in one of the following areas, with exposure to both preferred:

· PCBA design and fabrication, analog and digital circuit design using SolidWorks Electrical, MentorGraphics, or similar electrical CAD packages.

· Mechanical component design using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD, 3D printing with varios media and printer types, generating fully-dimensioned 2D drawings for fabrication, conducting tolerance stack-up analysis, working with machinists or machine shops to fabricate components.

Candidate must have proven experience leading multi-functional teams in taking systems from requirement definition through design and implementation while ensuring project schedules and budgets are achieved.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

  • 3D printing and additive manufacturing
  • CNC machining
  • Rapid design and manufacturing of PCBAs
  • GDT&E
  • Design, integration and mounting of optical components and systems
  • Generating work instructions and procedures
  • Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams
  • Self-motivation with demonstrated ability to supervise other engineers

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
