The Engineer or Analyst in this role will support programs involving simulation and analysis; system/component performance assessment and verification; basic to complex command and control (C2) concepts and techniques; and testing of acquisition, track, and discrimination radar algorithms. Candidates should be familiar with basic to complex radar theory with an emphasis on being able to analyze, assess, and characterize performance of radar data processing components such as signal processors, electronic protection (EP), tracking, discrimination, and data fusion and analysis. Candidates will develop software models and use data analysis techniques to evaluate system performance impacts of radar algorithms, databases, and/or parameter updates and perform root cause analysis of observed behavior. This will also include the analysis and modeling of radio frequency (RF) electronic warfare (EW) techniques including electronic attack (EA) and EP concepts. Candidates will apply a combination of effective communication and collaboration skills with strong technical interests/capabilities to work with and provide leadership in a highly technical and dynamic team of engineers and scientists solving challenging technical questions about complex radar and weapon systems.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Applied Physics, or a closely related field and provide evidence of a strong academic record. Candidates with advanced degrees in STEM disciplines and/or direct experience working with MDA radar systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants with 2+ years of related experience will be considered for this position.
Candidate must have excellent math skills and/or understand electromagnetics, signals and systems, digital signal processing, and data analysis techniques. Candidate must have the capability to apply these skills in the following areas: radar/systems modeling and analysis, algorithm and data evaluation, RF signal generation and evaluation, and/or simulation in digital environments.
Candidate should be a motivated self-starter and problem solver, with experience executing within multi-disciplinary teams. Capabilities to mentor and/or provide direction to teammates, and junior engineers and analysts is a plus.
Position requires strong analysis skills, experience with signal processing, probability and statistics, and basic software design principles. Proficiency with MATLAB/Python and familiarity with compiled software languages such as C/C++ are required.
Candidate will be expected to represent Dynetics technically, professionally and ethically, and must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Candidate must have good communication and collaboration skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists. Ideally, candidate will have an interest in, and exposure to, complex radar systems (such as the AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, CD, and UEWR BMDS radars). Candidates with experience in radar analysis and/or modeling & simulation are preferred. Technical management experience is also a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance.
