Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Missile System Engineer to join a diverse team responsible for the development of a next-generation air defense system. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware systems. The individual selected for this position will be an engineer with experience working on missile system development programs. The individual must be a self-starter with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems.
The engineer will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, team environment through all phases of the system development life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, range testing, and post-delivery support. The engineer will work closely with a major subcontractor responsible for developing significant components of an air defense system. The engineer is expected to actively partner with the Subcontractor, Dynetics' engineers, project managers, and the customer to ensure the Subcontractor products meet all technical requirements per the Subcontractor Statement of Work. The engineer will support resolution of Subcontractor technical issues by ensuring all relevant stakeholders are actively engaged in the root cause corrective action process. The engineer will serve as a liaison between the Subcontractor and the Dynetics technical teams to ensure Subcontractor deliverables contain the required information to satisfy Dynetics and Customer requirements. The engineer will assess all system-level engineering changes to determine the potential impact to Subcontractor products. The engineer will be responsible for conducting technical trade studies, attending flight test events, and supporting evaluations of technology improvements. The engineer will ensure Subcontractor models and simulations represent the required level of fidelity to meet model-based system engineering and hardware-in-the-loop test objectives. The engineer will work with all stakeholders to ensure the Subcontractor test and evaluation program is adequately planned and work with all stakeholders to accomplish system test objectives.
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA
