Dynetics is seeking a senior GNC engineer to lead developmental efforts for guidance, navigation, and control of air-launched flight systems. As a result of recent growing programs, such as US SOCOM’s GBU 69/B Small Glide Munition, DARPA Gremlins, and other rapid development efforts, Dynetics is in need of a senior GNC engineer with proven, direct experience on weapon or UAS systems. The successful applicant will demonstrate a history of leading the development of guidance and autopilot algorithms for real flight hardware systems, along with an ability to support GNC development on “niche” weapon systems in a highly accelerated schedule to meet critical needs for the warfighters. Streamlined development efforts will result in concept to flight timelines measured in months, not years. Candidate is expected to lead development as well as mentor and train engineering staff throughout development.
Inclusive in this process is the development and analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms, and assisting implementation of these items in 6DOF simulations, Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities, and operational flight software. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of conducting trade studies for design decisions, develop techniques to assess, validate and verify performance, and support flight tests with pre-flight predictions and post-flight analyses.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Physics with 10 or more years of experience with feedback control system design and analysis, to include guidance and/or autopilot development for flight vehicles, and knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles.
Must be experienced in MATLAB and C/C++ programming.
Experience in optimal estimation and control is a plus, including:
MS degree or higher is strongly desired
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
