Dynetics a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Senior Manager of Operational Accounting to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Provide technical accounting support and leadership for the Operational Accounting team which consists of Billings, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Travel Accounting and Treasury. We are looking for a candidate with technical accounting skills and ability to add value and additional capabilities to our team.
The Senior Manager of Accounting will be responsible for managing multiple teams of accounting professionals. Teams will include Billing, Accounts Receivable, Travel, Accounts Payable, and Treasury. A significant component of managing the team will be to ensure that the team is properly trained and mentored.
The position requires someone that can communicate with teams within and outside of our own organization, which will include executive level leaders. The Senior Manager will also drive various projects & initiatives requiring effective presentations to others regarding AR Aging, Billing, AR and AP metrics, cash flow, policies, practices and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service within our team and among other teams we work with by creating transparent processes, effective communications, and developing ways to eliminate process bottlenecks.
Developing and leading streamlining and automation efforts.
Possess expertise in emerging and high risk technical accounting areas of GAAP to identify issues and develop solutions to resolve, including lease accounting, inventory accounting, and treasury accounting. The Senior Manager will interact closely with our Controller in Huntsville and the Leidos Operational Accounting in Reston to ensure alignment with GAAP and Leidos procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or University with 8+ years of accounting experience or Master’s Degree in Accounting with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Extensive Costpoint experience is required.
Demonstrated experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations and US Government contract accounting.
Effective leadership and communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills.
Intermediate skills with technology such as Excel (i.e. Pivot tables and formulas) and understanding of ledger systems.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred and possess knowledge and past experience of accounting standards
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
