Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Manufacturing Program Manager to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

This position will perform a key function of providing oversight and program management leadership for the manufacturing of a critical Air and Missile Defense program. This role will provide leadership to ensure planning and organizing of our product realization approach leading to efficient manufacturing and integration activities at all supplier and internal locations, to include high-quality manufacturing of mechanical & electronics components, integration of weapon systems, sensors and other complex electro-mechanical systems. The Manufacturing Program Manager will work closely with Program leadership, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing personnel to plan and formulate manufacturing operations strategies for the Program to meet schedule and quality requirements. Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Partnering with the Manufacturing Organization to lead and participate in the planning, preparation and execution of manufacturing for the program to meet key customer requirements
  • Identifying and acquiring resources for facilities, personnel, tooling, and capital equipment
  • Identifying logistics requirements and strategies for execution
  • Assisting with supplier performance assessments and improvement initiatives as necessary
  • Partnering with the Quality function to ensure alignment between Manufacturing and Quality plans
  • Develop and deliver the Manufacturing Plan
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Organization to develop and execute the Manufacturing Readiness Level plan
  • Lead and/or participate in Production Readiness Reviews, and track associated actions to closure to ensure production readiness
  • Partner with Manufacturing site and functional leadership to drive cost and schedule performance in support of Program objectives through the use of KPI’s and Metrics
  • Provide manufacturing related inputs to Program leadership in support of recurring program reviews
  • Manage internal work authorizations between Dynetics and supporting subsidiary – Dynetics Technical Solutions
  • Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and problem solving

Basic Qualifications

BS in a technical or business discipline with 10+ years- experience in manufacturing management for Defense, Aerospace, or Commercial projects with an understanding of manufacturing quality requirements for such projects.

Ten (10) years of management experience such as project or organizational leadership experience.

Experience leading a cross-functional team with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & Manufacturing.

Experience planning hardware product realization efforts.

Candidate must be a US citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Strong manufacturing background in Defense, Aerospace or Commercial industry.

Experience with a program start-up, new or greenfield plant, plant optimization and/or plant operations.

Familiarity with AS6500 manufacturing management program.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:

  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing management for Defense, Aerospace or Commercial projects
  • Program/Project Management experience. PMI Certification a plus.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience with AS9100 and DCMA standards.
  • Experience with the preparation and delivery of a Manufacturing Plan IAW DI-MGMT-81889.
  • Experience conducting Manufacturing Risk and Readiness Assessments.
  • Experience in the identification of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) IAW DI-SESS-81974.
  • Familiarity with the DoD MRL Deskbook.
  • Experience with Cospoint MRP

Security Requirements
