Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to participate in various safety-critical software projects for commercial, NASA, and defense projects. Individuals with previous software safety experience are preferred. Individuals with a strong software engineering background on mission or safety critical projects will also be considered, with on-the-job training provided by a Dynetics Senior Software Safety engineer.
This position will develop software for safety and mission critical systems for various programs to NASA software safety standards or defense software safety standards. Tasks include: software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, and software testing; working with small teams using Agile processes to strict standards. This position will be expected to learn about standards such as NPR 7150.2C, MIL-STD-882E, AMCOM 85-17, and DO-178C to grow into a software safety engineering role under mentorship from senior engineers.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidate must have 5+ years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or 3+ years of experience with a MS degree.
Experience with software safety standards including NASA Standards NASA-STD-8719.13C, NASA-STD-8739.8, NPR 7150.2C, NASA-HDBK-4008, MIL-STD-882E, AMCOM-385-17, MIL_HDK-516B, RTCA DO-178C, or ISO 26262 is a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
