Dynetics, a Leidos Company, is seeking a talented Aerospace Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The position requires a fundamental understanding of vehicle dynamics and controls, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, and propulsion, coupled with a solid base of programming experience.
These skills will be used in the creation of detailed models and complete end-to-end simulations, to include strategic/tactical missile systems (foreign & domestic), glide munitions, and manned/unmanned vehicles.
The successful applicant will work closely with a highly technical team of multi-disciplinary engineers to provide accurate & timely analysis of flight vehicle systems' performance & capabilities, assist in evaluation of system designs, and use all-source information to verify/validate weapon system performance models.
Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office.
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
3 or more years of applicable experience in flight simulation and/or modeling.
Proficiency with at least one of the following: MATLAB/Simulink, C++, Python.
Solid technical communication skills and an ability to work in both collaborative team environments and independently.
A Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred, but not required. Special consideration is made for applicable experience in lieu of advanced degrees.
An active security clearance is desired.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
