The LaRC Cybersecurity team at Langley Research Center currently has an opening for a Cybersecurity Specialist III at NASA’s LaRC office in Hampton,VA. This is a great opportunity to be involved with NASA and the upcoming missions for the Space program. In this mission we will be supporting NASA through various cybersecurity efforts.
The applicant will be required to perform Cybersecurity duties on Linux and/or Windows Servers and workstations. The applicant will be heavily involved in network analysis through packet captures and IPS/IDS, provide consistent response to vulnerability mitigation through system hardening and function as a member of the LaRC incident response team.

The candidate must have a BS Degree or equivalent experience and 5 to 10 years in applicable experience with tools and frameworks such as:
MITRE ATT&CK
Splunk
Reverse engineering of malware in both compiled and interpreted languages and forensic tools such as:
EnCase
Magnate Axio
Cellebrite
Snort
Stealthwatch
Ghidra
Volatility
The candidate must have performed Operating System hardening, and understand disaster recovery strategies, risk management framework (rev-5), log aggregation and management strategies for many different systems. Knowledge and basic understanding of infrastructure systems and cybersecurity practices are required.
Knowledge of RMF Rev5 process and it’s application.
CISSP or similar credential
Proficient with Red Hat and Debian Linux
Splunk query, alerting and dashboarding
Ability to lead a team of cybersecurity professionals during active incidents.
An ability to interact well with teammates and NASA customers as needed.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
