Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Principal Hardware Design Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Product Engineering Department is a design-focused group of engineers specializing in advanced hardware-based solutions. The individual selected for this position will be a design engineer with broad technical expertise and demonstrated experience developing electronic products and solutions. The individual must be an independent problem solver with experience working with inter-disciplinary teams to solve challenging technical problems. The engineer will work closely with electronics integrated into a diverse range of aerospace and military systems including manned/unmanned ground/air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems.
The selected candidate will be a key technical leader in a fast-paced environment that includes systems in all phases of the product lifecycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. The candidate will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and testing electronics at various levels including the board, box, subsystem, and system-level. The candidate should demonstrate experience with a variety of technical disciplines including RF, power systems, optics, complex electronics, and embedded systems and be able to develop expertise in others through technical leadership and mentorship. Additionally, the engineer will support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable products. This will include troubleshooting board-level issues, assessing failures for root cause, and identifying corrective actions. The candidate will contribute to both project and organizational goals and be able to identify opportunities and propose solutions for improvement in group quality, agility, and capability.
With a product focus, the individual is expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians, and the customer to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. The candidate will also work with proposal managers to propose novel technical approaches to emerging challenges.

Preference shown to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with a 3.5 or higher GPA
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university
Preference shown to candidates with 20+ years of experience developing electronic or electromechanical systems
